EDDY VAN HEMELRIJCK
Global business is his passion. Starting his career as an economist doing barter trade for Johnson & Johnson in China and the ex Soviet-Union, Eddy developed his skills in intercultural communication and negotiations. During a new J&J assignment where he had to build a corporate purchasing network in Europe, he learned how to make different European nationalities work as a team.
His interest in sales made him choose again for a job operating in EMEA and his longtime favorite Asia. Longing to work truly global he joined the Belgian fashion bag brand Kipling where he climbed up to become Vice President Worldwide Sales. Spending 4 months a year abroad, from setting up distributorships in Australia and South-Africa, managing distributors in the Far East and the USA, opening markets in the Middle East and South and Latin America, he felt the need in 2003 to be more at home with his wife and young kids.
As a part-time host professor at the Karel de Grote Business School in Antwerpen (Belgium), lecturing sustainable business and intercultural communication, Eddy entered the training and consulting world in Belgium carrying out assignments in sales, communication, coaching and leadership for Belgian and international companies.
Eddy established Maror, a company specialised in sustainable business support, which he has successfully led for many years. With Francis Laleman he founded Dunya, joining India Business Support as well as Anand vzw in 2009.
Eddy side-kicks as a football coach and is a keen badminton player. He is married with two children and lives in Antwerpen, Belgium.
